Craig Na Hulla Design - creating spaces that are comfortable, memorable and inspiring.

The Craig Na Hulla Team

Craig Na Hulla Design was established in 2004 after 24 years experience was accumulated between Donegal brothers Brian and Neil McGilloway in the construction and shopfitting sectors. Our workshop was set up just off the Wild Atlantic Way at Ireland’s most northerly point, Malin Head, where we initially began manufacturing kitchens. This however rapidly evolved into shopfitting and when McCabes Pharmacy hired us to fit out one of their network of nationwide pharmacies, requests from similar retail outlets began rolling in.

Craig Na Hulla Design is best known for building long lasting relationships with our clients, which has led to the successful completion of many complicated briefs. When you call Craig Na Hulla Design, there is no middle man. There is the opportunity to speak with one of our directors, which means there is no time or effort wasted on the client’s part. There is also a strict dedication to the best practice and the highest quality of work.

Specialising in bespoke retail interior design, manufacturing and fitting, our team of shop fitting experts focuses primarily on pharmacies, restaurants and offices but is not limited to these. Having worked together for many years, the team at Craig Na Hulla Design is able to ensure a smooth construction process from early concept stages to completion, or as hired subcontractor, and our commitment to each client guarantees that no matter what the project is, Craig Na Hulla Design will achieve its full potential.

Craig Na Hulla - means rock in the valley

As design concepts evolve, the construction process becomes trickier or as Craig Na Hulla Design likes to call it, more exciting. As a firm dedicated to the implementation of imaginative and innovative interior retail design, our Donegal based team of experts believe that if we are not discovering new solutions to construction issues or defying each new challenge proposed, then we are not uncovering the realm of our abilities or pushing boundaries of design. This is what we want to do and provide a service like no other.

“They’re a very likeable and responsible team, “ Brian McGilloway says. “They are very loyal, I’ve never heard a bad word said about them. They’re the kind of team that will do anything you ask, even if it’s not part of their job description. I often arrive on site while they are doing something that they are not obliged to do, but have been asked to do by a client, and it’s great to see. They want to keep our clients just as happy as we do. Its why Craig Na Hulla Design has done so well so far.”

Another thing aiding the firm’s rise to the top is the amount of experience each team member has. Both directors, Brian and Neil, have several years experience working for Ashley Martin Shopfitting, where they gained a valuable insight into the trade and began to witness how naturally it came to them both. This accumulation of skills and understanding then led directly to the establishment of Craig Na Hulla Design as the brothers realised that it was time that they began to carve their own path within the industry.

“We picked it up as we went along, “ Brian explained. “We were initially a kitchen assembly company, but when the recession hit we had to find other things to do.  Our first big job was with McCabes Pharmacy and now they are one of our best clients. Other services that we offer include suspended ceilings, stud partition and dry lining, floor and wall tiling, carpet tiling, solid surface fabrication and first and second fixings.  We have reached a nice balance in the office. Everyone has their role to play and we meet regularly to discuss and elaborate on each project - this means that each client gets the benefit of our expertise.  After facing difficult times together, like the recession, we know how to effectively fulfil a brief and that we are capable of accomplishing most tasks.  It has never been a sad story here - Craig Na Hulla Design has only ever grown from strength to strength."

The remote location of our workshop in the hills of Donegal has never restricted us in seeking opportunities across Ireland and today, we are proud to include Lloyds Pharmacy, Benefit Cosmetics, Staywell Pharmacy and Ireland West Airport Knock in our ever-growing list of clients.

Specialising in bespoke retail interior design, manufacturing and fitting, our long-established team has customer satisfaction to the front of our mind at all stages of the design and manufacturing process. This is evident from the testimonials of our clients, from local retail outlets to visitor centres in our national airports.

Working closely with our clients and using computer aided technology in the design and manufacturing process, we strive to produce a completed project to the satisfaction of the client and often beyond their expectations. Our clients like the fact that they do not have to go through a middleman and that they can speak directly to the partners. Every stage in the journey is covered from the initial meeting with clients on site, shop design and ongoing consultation with the client until agreement of design, at which stage the designs are moved from the screen to the workshop floor where the experienced technical staff use Computer Numerical Control equipment to bring the designs to life.

More recently we have been trained in the fabrication of Corian® Solid Surface worktops meaning that we are one of a small number of fabricators in the Republic of Ireland certified to do so. You can get some ideas of what is possible from Corian®at their website: https://www.corian.uk/ Have a look at some of the projects carried out by our Malin Head based team over the years and then get in contact to see how your concept can become a reality.
